Join the award-winning team behind CBS Saturday Morning! We are seeking a seasoned live, multi-camera broadcast Director with a bold vision and a collaborative spirit to help craft the future of our acclaimed morning broadcast. In this key role, you will partner closely with the Executive Producer to refine and elevate the show's visual identity. As the leader in the control room, you'll collaborate with producers, graphic artists, and technical crews to turn creative ideas into compelling, must-watch broadcasts. Your expertise in directing multi-camera live newscasts and live music performances will be pivotal in delivering innovative and captivating content that resonates with our audience.
Core Responsibilities:
• Direct live, multi-camera broadcasts with precision and creativity, ensuring a dynamic and seamless viewer experience.
• Collaborate with producers to develop visually engaging segments through smart blocking, innovative pacing, and compelling storytelling techniques.
• Direct live performances, balancing technical excellence with creative flair to deliver memorable, high-quality productions.
• Participate in editorial meetings, contributing fresh ideas to improve broadcast content and online presence.
• Lead all aspects of segment execution, including graphic design integration and flawless management of the daily rundown.
• Partner with a cross-functional team of producers, graphic artists, and technical crew to maintain CBS Sunday Morning's signature look and feel.
Qualifications:
• At least 5+ years of directing experience at the network or cable level, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality, live, multi-camera productions.
• Proficiency in directing live performances, with a strong understanding of the particular demands and dynamics of such productions.
• Phenomenal leadership skills and the ability to cultivate collaboration in fast paced environments.
• Stellar organizational and problem-solving abilities to ensure seamless production execution.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, essential for encouraging collaboration, facilitating effective decision-making, and maintaining positive relationships across teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with ELC automation systems or similar broadcast automation technologies.
• Experience working with editorial teams to craft engaging and visually dynamic storytelling.
• A keen eye for design and graphics, with the capability of guiding creative decisions that improve the viewer experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $215,000.00 - 245,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
