Job Description
We're looking for a Manager to join our Communications team in New York.

In this exciting new role, you will support the development and execution of a comprehensive communications strategy driving the visibility and reputation of the MediaLink Brand at large, as well as its business solutions and key thought leaders. You will report directly to MediaLink's SVP, Head of Communications, and you will also serve as a cross-functional member of United Talent Agency's Corporate Communications department. You will also work very closely with MediaLink's Marketing team on thought leadership efforts.

As a Communications Manager, you will assist and take an active role in both external and internal communications efforts. You will get first-hand experience regularly engaging with a broad range of external and internal stakeholders, including: journalists, conference organizers, industry organization leaders, and senior/C-suite leadership both within MediaLink and across UTA. You should have an interest in the media, entertainment, marketing, advertising and technology space, a natural adeptness in relationship-building, and a passion for storytelling and news.

The salary range for this role is $105,000 to $125,000 commensurate with experience and skills.

What You Will Do

External Communications and Media Relations
• Develop/assist on first drafts of company announcements, press releases, and awards submissions
• Collaborate with retained PR agency to identify and draft pitches for press opportunities highlighting the MediaLink Brand at large, as well as its business solutions, event presence, original research, and key thought leaders across trade, business, and broadcast media
• Liaise with junior reporters and identify new relationships outside of MediaLink's standard list of journalist contacts
• Conduct research on relevant vertical media and identify opportunities to break in
• Research, track and flag opportunities for awards submissions
• Conduct daily media monitoring for MediaLink and key thought leaders
• Assist in development of press briefing documents and talking points for key thought leaders

Social Media
• Serve as a key administrator of MediaLink's social media channels in collaboration with members of the Marketing team
• Draft copy for posts across the company's corporate accounts on LinkedIn, Instagram, X and Facebook
• Monitor company social channels to stay abreast of conversations pertaining to MediaLink and its leadership team

Events, Speaking and Jury Opportunities
• Collaborate with Marketing, Connections, and Leadership & Industry Marketing teams to build and maintain annual master conference calendar
• Identify new speaking opportunities for MediaLink thought leaders outside of standard tentpole and anchor events (but including fringe opportunities at tentpole events)
• Draft pitches and abstracts for external speaking opportunities
• Assist in development of speaker briefing documents
• Stay on top of speaker logistics
• Identify jury opportunities for thought leaders and draft submissions

Internal Communications
• Assist in compiling information for UTA Global Staff Meetings and MediaLink Town Halls

Project Management, Tracking and Reporting
• Drive day-to-day project management across the team
• Track key deadlines (awards, jury and speaking submissions, etc.)
• Maintain media lists; own master press tracker used for CES and Cannes
• Compile meeting notes and maintain/flag action items
• Monitor and track press coverage in real-time
• Own first drafts of decks and presentations
• Build quarterly/annual reports on communications activities that track and analyze their effectiveness

What You Will Need
• 5-9 years of related b-to-b PR experience in media, marketing, advertising and/or technology; either at an agency or in-house. Journalism backgrounds in relevant industries can also be considered
• Experience pitching media and events organizers in the media, marketing, advertising and/or technology industries, with a demonstrable portfolio of results
• Exceptional written and verbal communications skills; writing samples required
• Experience copy writing for corporate social media channels a plus
• Experience supporting internal communications efforts a plus
• Strong research skills
• Strong interest in media, marketing, advertising and technology trends
• Self-starter mentality, eager to make a meaningful impact within the company
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Effective time management skills
• Organized with a strong attention to detail; strong ability to project manage
