Job Description
The primary function of the Business Analyst is to work closely with stakeholders across Marketing, Product, Research, Sales, and Corporate Data teams to gather and interpret data requirements. The analyst will be responsible for diving into large data sets to find insights and gain a robust understanding of how it connects to the business and advancing stakeholders objectives. This role will work alongside the data engineers, project manager, and data team to help ensure quality data is captured and democratized for business users.
Your Role Accountabilities
• Gain an understanding of WBD Sports' data and analytics needs to identify new opportunities to enhance data for business insights and marketing activations.
• Translate business requirements into technical requirements through stakeholder interviews, data discovery, and exploratory and in-depth data analyses.
• Work closely with Project Manager, Data Architect, and members of the team to determine feasibility and design, validate data sets, and ensure successful deliverables to stakeholders.
• Wrangle data from multiple sources to create integrated and actionable data insights through data extraction and/or transformation processes via any data handling means relevant (SQL, Python, LookML, R, etc.).
• Build and maintain relationships across the organization.
• Expected to be self-motivated, proactive and solution oriented.
Qualifications & Experiences
• Advanced communication skills (written/verbal), with emphasis on demonstrated ability to translate complex concepts between business and technical groups.
• Strong organizational and project management skills across multiple threads of work streams.
• Proven data exploration, problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience working with large and complex SQL databases, primarily, but not limited to, PostgreSQL and Snowflake.
• Knowledge of data engineering/pipelines (Apache Hop/Pentaho/etc.) a plus.
• Proficient in SQL, R, Python, etc., and BI tools (Looker, Tableau, or similar).
• Experience with marketing and analytics data a plus (examples: Braze, FreeWheel/GAM, Ecommerce, Adobe Analytics, Kochava/Branch, Nielsen/ComScore).
• Bachelors' Degree in Business Analytics, Business Management, Analytics, Data Science, or similar.
