Job Description
The DJ / Music coordinator will be responsible for curating and coordinating music playlists, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere during sixteen (16) Detroit Tigers spring training games and sixty-six (66) Flying Tigers regular season games. Collaboration with Game Presentation Producer to ensure effective and accurate fan engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Music Curation:
• Curate playlists that align with the overall fan experience, team brand, and event themes for Spring Training and Lakeland Flying Tigers games.
Game-Day Execution:
• Execute the music plan during live events, incorporating pre-selected playlists, walk-up songs for players, and in-game entertainment cues.
Collaboration with Game Presentation Team:
• Work closely with the game presentation director and producers to synchronize music with various in-game elements, promotions, and entertainment acts.
Player Interaction:
• Coordinate with players and coaching staff to ensure their preferences for walk-up songs and other in-game music are considered and implemented.
Sound System Management:
• Oversee the sound system and audio equipment to ensure high-quality sound throughout the stadium.
Fan Engagement:
• Use music to enhance fan engagement, energize the crowd, and create a dynamic atmosphere during games.
Adaptability:
• Be flexible and able to adapt music choices on the fly based on the game situation, fan reactions, and other factors.
Stay Current with Music Trends:
• Keep up-to-date with current music trends and popular songs to ensure the playlists are relevant and resonant with the fanbase.
Coordination with Entertainment Acts:
• Collaborate with external entertainment acts to coordinate music requirements for their performances.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education & experience also considered
• Excellent verbal, written, communication and organizational skills
• Must be reliable, detail oriented, well organized and self-motivated
Working Conditions:
• Office & Outdoor Stadium Environment
• Irregular and extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Employment dates: January 16, 2024 – September 30, 2024
